Soju is a traditional Korean alcoholic beverage and a type of distilled spirit. As a representative drink of Korea, it's something you should definitely try if you're traveling in the country. Koreans often enjoy soju with dishes like samgyeopsal (pork belly) or even with pizza. The price ranges from around 1,000 won at convenience stores to about 4,000 won at restaurants, with an alcohol content of around 15%.

Typically, soju is served in small glasses and consumed in one gulp. Some people mix it with beer in a ratio of 3 parts soju to 7 parts beer, according to their taste. Popular soju brands include 'Chamisul', 'Cheoeum-cheoreom', 'Jinro', and 'Saero'. There are also flavored soju options available, so you can explore different tastes while traveling. In Korea, you must be at least 20 years old by Korean age (19 years old by Western age) to purchase alcohol.
